The York Water Gate, in Embankment gardens, near Charing Cross. This remnant of Italianate architecture was origianlly on the riverbank, before the embankment was constructed. Built in around 1626, it is attributed to Inigo Jones, and originally formed the entrance to York House, used by Charles I.
